Jubilee weekend at White Park Bay, Northern Ireland

We spent the Jubilee weekend at White Park Bay Youth Hostel. It’s a beautiful setting perched above a stunning, secluded beach.  If you’re around the North Coast of Northern Ireland you should definitely stop by this one and if you have a camera, there’s great opportunities for some lovely landscape or seascape photos.

Unfortunately the light wasn’t great for a beautiful sunset so I experimented with a few new longer exposure techniques and explored the interest that the beach had to offer.

Here’s a few of them:

Mullaghmore, County Sligo

Here are a few more of my favourite photographs from the night at Mullaghmore head in County Sligo.

They were shot with either the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 or the Sigma 10-20.

Earlier this year I submitted a panel of Landscape Photographs from across Northern Ireland as well as a couple from the Republic of Ireland.

Thankfully the panel passed the requirements and it was accepted for the standard of the Licentiateship.

Colombia – Old Men

The faces of older men are always fascinating, they always reveal plenty of life experience, along with stories to share.

On a recent trip to Colombia, we got to spend time with a number of families, unfortunately a lot of the dads weren’t around, either they had moved to find work or had been killed in the drugs war.  However a number of the families had   older men and I had the pleasure of capturing their portraits.

Here are my favourites.

Photography Workshop at Dunluce Castle, County Antrim

Last Friday, Gilbert Lennox, David Torrens, Darren Anderson and myself set out on a workshop with photojournalist Kieran Dodds to capture Dunluce Castle…

It was a glorious day of sunshine, with the help of some clouds later in the day to help diffuse the harsh light.

Here are a few shots from the day:
